Cervical screening in Central Otago

If you've got a spare 9 minutes, this documentary is absolutely worth your time. It’s a powerful look into how a dedicated group of health experts is making a real difference by bringing a mobile cervical testing unit to the rural women of Central Otago. Many face significant challenges, including long working hours and distance from home, which can affect access to healthcare and screening.

Amidst all the action of a wool-shed at shearing time, women access vital services like HPV self-tests and onsite colposcopy. It’s inspiring to see such innovative solutions in action. It is truly an amazing kaupapa.

Cervical cancer is preventable, yet 50 people in Aotearoa still lose their lives to it every year. This short film beautifully captures the spirit of innovation and the heart of compassionate care, making healthcare more accessible and empowering everyone to take control of their wellness journey.

Watch it and see how modern healthcare is becoming a supportive partner in our quest for wellness, no matter where we live.
